Super History of Superman: Justice League: The New Frontier (2008)

Fresh off of his own solo film, Superman joined the line-up in DC's second in the modern line of direct to video movies in 2008s' Justice League: The New Frontier.

Despite the Man of Steel's inclusion in this reverent throwback to the silver age, the spotlight mostly fell to the Flash, Green Lantern, and Martain Manhunter. Even Batman and Woman also played lesser roles. And yet, the always inspirational Superman managed a couple of big appearances as one of the few heroes operating openly before ultimately being knocked down for the count.

While I am not necessarily a fan of a weakened Superman, he did not go down without a fight and at least the film made Superman's co-Leaguers seem worthy of their positions on the team.

Check back next week for another chapter in The Super History of Superman.
